You’re not alone. Many of the owners I work with have already tried online advice, watched countless videos or been told to “just be firmer” with their dog.
Whether you’re dealing with reactivity, destructive behaviours, anxiety, pulling on the lead or behaviour that just seems to be getting worse it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and confused on the right path to take.
This is where we come in! We are here to help you understand the “why” behind your dog’s behaviour and create a practical and realistic plan that works for both of you and your dog!
1. Quick fixes - Behaviour change takes time, consistency and understanding. There is no quick fix.
2. Aversive Training - we use tools ethically to benefit dogs that need it. However I will not use tools for high punishment or to induce fear.
3. Ignore pain - if your dog is showing they are in pain/discomfort we will not continue training. Behaviour is often a byproduct of poor health and pain. I’ll refer you back to your vet.
4. Blame the dog/ owner - Most owners are doing their best with the information they have. I get it! I am a business owner, a mum and I own five pets. Life can be crazy! We help build around the crazy.

After an initial 4 hour introductory session, we knew Shanae and her team would be the right fit for our working Cocker Spaniel, Rupert.
We went for a 4 week intensive program with the focus being on the areas identified by Shanae during the initial intro session. These were mainly reactivity towards other dogs, dominance, recalling from situations, general neutrality and resetting boundaries.
Shanae has shown nothing but love and compassion for our Hank, and kindness and understanding towards us as rescue dog owners. Hank is a dog that needs help to learn boundaries but does not take well to compulsion or aggressive punishment techniques - Shanae's done the absolute opposite and helped him flourish through positive experiences. He is such a different dog to what he was 4 months ago when we were sadly faced with the possibility of putting him to sleep. Shanae has understood Hank and his needs more than we ever expected and helped us to see he is just scared of the world. Shanae saved Hank and were so grateful for her support in helping him become a wonderful family pet. We can’t recommended Shanae more highly.🐾
Shanae & the Tactical Paws team are utterly brilliant in every way! Our Vizsla Zeus has been out training, for regular day care services and the occasional boarding with the team for over 3 years and we've had such a positive experience; Zeus (who is very excitable and energetic!) has learnt some really good traits, and can't wait to get out with the team each week for his walks - Tactical Paws are a real home from home for Zeus.
If your dog’s behaviour is affecting daily life, causing stress, impacting your relationship or limiting what you can do together - we would recommend behavioural training. This would include a 2-hour assessment. A programme tailored to your dog and so much more!
We’ll discuss your dog’s history, current challenges, daily routine, health, exercise and environment. Your goals and ideal lifestyle with your dog. I’ll help identify the “why” behind your dogs behaviour and provide practical recommendations along with a tailored training plan. Your dog will also have a social assessment with our stooge dogs to have a clear picture of their social capability. Roughly takes 2 hours starting from your home!
Every dog is different and we do not like to put a number on it! Some owners see significant change after a few sessions while more complex behaviours may require ongoing support. My focus is on sustainable progress rather than rushing the process.
We have multiple styles of training across our team to bring that “not one method fits all approach”. We are a team of positive only, balanced and LIMA-based trainers.
Yes, absolutely! We are open minded to the fact that some dogs thrive off tools. Giving them the life and freedom they would have never had without them. Any equipment used is built through positive reinforcement and ethically. No high levels of punishment, excessive force or physical punishment on any dog covered by Beth and Priscilla.
Many of my clients come to me after trying other approaches/trainers without success. Behaviour is complex and sometimes a fresh perspective, a kinder approach or addressing underlying emotional factors can make that difference you need.
We cover virtually internationally with a huge chunk of our clients in the US. We offer in-person training in the below areas:
